B&C Morning Show: The Legend That Is Julius 'Dr. J' Erving
The Legend. The Icon. The Dr.
No matter how you choose to refer to him, there is no mistaking the greatness that is Julius Erving, and he joined Boomer and Craig this morning in the Allstate Studio to promote his upcoming documentary, "The Doctor," which premiers on June 10 on NBA TV, and to talk about his influence on the game of basketball, both past and present.
He talked about admiring Connie Hawkins and Elgin Baylor, dealing with a trash-talking Larry Bird, iconic dunks, and his all-time starting five (Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West and Baylor). He also discussed his biggest regrets, including his beef with Maurice Cheeks for his actions at the end of the 1983 Finals, which still bothers him today.
