NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – According to multiple reports, the New York Jets have extended a minicamp invite to free agent tight end Kellen Winslow Jr..

When the Jets begin minicamp on Tuesday, Winslow will be competing with Jeff Cumberland, Konrad Reuland, Hayden Smith, Chris Pantale and Mike Shanahan to win the number one slot on the Jets’ depth chart at tight end.

Winslow, 29, was the sixth overall draft pick in the 2004 NFL Draft when he was selected by the Cleveland Browns. While a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he demonstrated consistency. Winslow hauled in least 66 receptions and 730 yards from 2009-11.

In 93 games, Winslow has caught 438 passes for 4,848 yards. He was elected to the Pro Bowl in 2007.
