EAST ORANGE, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — A suspect has been arrested and charged in the murder of a 17-year-old high school senior in East Orange, N.J.

Al-Muqqadin Means, 18, was arrested around noon Monday and charged in the murder of Aquilla Flood, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced.

Flood, a senior at Campus High School, was found dead around 7:30 a.m. last Wednesday inside her East Orange home.

Means was arrested in Newark. Also arrested was Tasjoin Williams, 19, of Newark, who was wanted for an armed robbery in West Orange. There was no indication that Williams was involved in the Flood case.

Published reports have said Means was Flood’s ex-boyfriend.

Means and Williams were arrested by detectives from the Prosecutor’s office and members of the FBI Fugitive Task Force.

A warrant for Means’ arrest was announced last week. He is now charged with one count of murder and two weapons offenses.
