Report: Jay-Z Now Licensed To Be NBA, MLB Agent

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Rapper Jay-Z is continuing to build his empire.

The artist and entrepreneur is continuing to make his mark in the sports world, and he's reportedly taken a major step forward.

Ron Berkowitz, a spokesman for Roc Nation Sports, told ESPN that the Brooklyn native is now licensed to be an NBA agent.

Roc Nation Sports, "a  full-service sports management company," was launched on April 2.

Jay-Z is licensed to be an MLB agent as well, MLB Players Association spokesman Greg Bouris told the network.

In just under three months since Roc Nation Sports was launched, the company has inked deals with Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano, Jets quarterback Geno Smith and WNBA sensation Skylar Diggins.

Jay-Z is also expected to sign three-time NBA scoring champion Kevin Durant.

The hip-hop mogul is not currently certified to be an NFL agent.

Roc Nation Sports is also reportedly close to finalizing a deal with Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz, who signed his free-agent tender of $2.87 million last week.
