Queens Buyback Event Takes Dozens Of Guns Off Streets
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A gun buyback program in Queens this weekend has netted more than two dozen firearms, police announced.
Among the guns taken off the streets and turned in were 17 revolvers, eight semi-automatics and a rifle.
The buyback was held at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Jamaica.
Since the start of the NYPD’s gun buyback program, more than 8,200 weapons have been surrendered, police said.
