Police: 1 Dead After Dispute Ends In Gunfire At Harlem Restaurant
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead in Harlem.
The incident happened at the United Fried Chicken restaurant on Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard and West 146th Street around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday.
Police said the 35-year-old victim was involved in a dispute with another man who left the restaurant, came back with a gun and opened fire, 1010 WINS reported.
The victim, identified by family members as Tyreke Taylor, was shot once in the neck and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The victim’s sister, Dawn Taylor, said she spent the day with her brother before he was shot and killed.
“We went out to eat, I met his new girlfriend, we had a great time,” she told 1010 WINS’ Juliet Papa. “I miss him. I love him.”
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Detectives are now reviewing surveillance video from the restaurant in hopes of identifying the suspect.
This isn’t the first time the Taylor family has lost a loved one to gun violence. The victim’s brother was shot and killed four years ago on 129th Street in Harlem.
“He got murdered too on 129th and they still ain’t catch his murderer yet,” the victim’s other sister, Brandy, said.
