NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — A New York Police Department officer has been shot in the leg in an incident in Brooklyn. Authorities say the injury is not life-threatening.

The NYPD says it happened shortly before 11 p.m. on Fountain Avenue. The officer was taken to the hospital.

The circumstances of the shooting are unclear, police were searching nearby buildings for the shooter.
