NYPD Officer Faces Attempted Rape, Other Charges On Staten Island
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — An off-duty New York City police officer has been charged with attempted rape.
Peter Ciollo, 29, was arrested around 6 p.m. Wednesday on Staten Island, police said.
He also is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, sexual abuse and unlawfully dealing with a child.
Police said the victim was a 16-year-old female known to the officer, WCBS 880’s Monica Miller reported.
“There were two young women under the age of 21, he was driving both of them to a home and they were provided alcohol,” Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said. “There was some sexual contact made after he provided alcohol.”
Ciollo is accused of having sexual contact with only one of the underage females.
The alleged attack occurred on Staten Island on July 4, Miller reported.
