HOLTSVILLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – Suffolk County Police nabbed a man minutes after they say he stole a woman’s iPhone.

According to police, Abdias Alvarez-Jolon, 22, of North Patchogue stole the device from a woman as she exercising near the running track at the Holtsville Ecology Center around 10:45 a.m. on Friday.

Police said Alvarez-Jolon threatened the woman with a knife before taking off on foot.

He was arrested by the responding officer five minutes later.

Alvarez-Jolon was charged with robbery and is due to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.
