79-Year-Old Woman Hit, Killed By Car In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A 79-year-old woman was struck and killed this weekend in southern Brooklyn.

King Fong was trying to cross Bay Parkway near 72nd Street in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn at 9:07 p.m. Saturday, when she was hit by a Dodge four-door sedan headed south on the thoroughfare, police said.

Police found Fong unconscious and unresponsive on the ground when they arrived. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver of the vehicle that struck Fong, a man, remained at the scene, police said.

The investigation was ongoing Sunday morning.
