B&C Morning Show: The Good, The Bad And The A-Rod
B&C kicked off a special Monday program by breaking down the weekend that was for the baseball locals. The Mets got a solid pitching performance from Dillon Gee in their win over the Pirates. However, it was not all sunshine and rainbows from Metland. Jordany Valdespin, who has had his moments this year, both good and bad, was sent down to Triple-A Vegas, and in typical Valdy fashion, he did not go quietly and had some choice words for manager Terry Collins.
In the Bronx, the Yankees lost the weekend series to the Twins. The hometown faithful even went as far as to boo a team that is seven games over .500. CC Sabathia struggled mightily, giving up eight runs in the loss. Both Craig and Boomer say it's not fair that this team gets booed because they have overachieved with a hodgepodge lineup.
What would a weekend be without some Alex Rodriguez news? A-Rod met with MLB for hours on Friday and claimed that he is not aware of a possible plea bargain. Boomer still thinks A-Rod will never wear a Yankee uniform again.
All of that, plus Craig gets booed at Citi Field for wearing a Yankee hat despite being a "big" Met fan.
