Summer Dining: Monday Kicks Off Restaurant Week In NYC

NEW YORK (WLNY) – Monday marks the beginning of Restaurant Week in New York City and Kelly Curtin, who has been involved in planning and organizing this week for many years, stopped by The Couch to share some tips.

"The deal for Restaurant Week is a three course prefixed menu that includes an appetizer, your main course and dessert and for lunch it's only $25 and for dinner it's only $38, and these special menus are at nearly 300 restaurants in almost every neighborhood with every cuisine that you could possibly think of," Curtin said.

Restaurant Week started in 1992 and has become a semi-annual tradition.

"The premise of the program really was to showcase the high-end restaurants and make them accessible for everyone," Curtin told The Couch.

There are still plenty of tables available for lunch and dinner.

"The trick is really just to book as soon as possible," Curtin said.
