NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The NYPD is asking the public for help in identifying and tracking down a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted rape and robbery in Brooklyn.

Shortly before 3 a.m. on Tuesday, a 24-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of 275 Webster Ave., when she was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground. Her assailant demanded money and attempted to rape her but fled the scene when the victim resisted, police said.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 27 and 32. He is between 5-foot-10 and 6-2, has dark hair and was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.
