Rookie Dee Milliner Begins Holdout At Jets Camp; Ryan 'Disappointed'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Jets' first-round draft pick, cornerback Dee Milliner, did not show up to camp on Thursday and is holding out over his rookie contract.

The ninth-overall pick, who was a no-show for his physical on Thursday morning, is the only rookie to have not yet signed a contract with Gang Green. Head coach Rex Ryan, who is no stranger to holdouts, is disappointed in his new defensive back.

"I'm just a little disappointed he's not here," Ryan told the Newark Star-Ledger. "But again, I'm coaching the guys that are here."

The former Alabama star has high expectations for the upcoming season. He also has big shoes to fill in the Jets' secondary after the departure of Darrelle Revis.

There is no scheduled date for Milliner to arrive at camp. He joins Mike Goodson on the list of Jets absent from Cortland, N.Y. Goodson's delay, however, was expected due to his recent legal troubles.

"We knew Mike was not going to report and we understand why he's not here," Ryan said in a statement.
