Search On For Suspect Who Allegedly Tried To Rob, Rape Woman In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Saturday were asking for assistance from the public in finding a suspect in an attempted rape and robbery in Brooklyn.

The attack happened around 2:40 a.m. this past Tuesday near 275 Webster Ave. in the Kensington section of Brooklyn, police said.

The 24-year-old victim was walking down the street when the suspect demanded her money and tried to rape her, according to police. But the woman resisted, and the man ended up running off, police said.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 27 and 32, standing 5 feet 10 to 6 feet 2 inches tall and with dark hair. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and dark blue jeans.

Police have released a sketch of the suspect.
