Justin Bieber Takes The Stage At Barclays Center Friday Night

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- July wasn't Justin Bieber's best month -- with recent allegations that he spits on fans and pees in buckets -- but August is already shaping up nicely for the 19-year-old pop star.

On Friday night, Bieber will perform at Barclays Center. Earlier on Friday, his song "Baby" was named the biggest single ever by the Recording Industry Association of America.

The industry group has certified Bieber's single as reaching Diamond status -- in "Baby's" case -- platinum 12 times over, and counting.

The Beeb tweeted in response that he is "honored" by the designation.

Back in May, the RIAA changed its formula for tallying record "sales" to include on-demand audio and Internet streams like Spotify and Vevo into the mix. That has helped boost the numbers for Bieber as well as for other artists who have a major online presence.

Friday's show starts at 7 p.m. For a complete guide to Barclays Center, click here.
