Brooklyn Truck Driver Charged In Fatal Lawrence, N.J. Crash

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two children and an adult were killed Friday evening in a nasty accident in Mercer County, N.J.

Around 6:30 p.m. Friday, a tractor trailer and a sport-utility vehicle collided Friday night on Brunswick Pike at Darrah Lane in Lawrence Township, police said.

Two boys and a woman in her 30s were killed in the crash, according to The Times of New Jersey. The older boy was believed to be 9, the younger just 5 months old, the newspaper reported.

A man and a girl in the SUV were reported in stable condition at an area hospital, the newspaper reported. The man was reportedly the driver.

Emergency crews had to use the jaws of life to free at least one victim at the scene.

Brooklyn Trucker Richard Williams, 45, has been charged with Death By Auto in connection with the accident. Williams was making an illegal U-turn when the crash occurred, according to authorities.
