WANTAGH, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A homicide investigation has been launched in Nassau County, after a body was discovered in a park in Wantagh Sunday.
Police told CBS 2 an “active homicide investigation” has been launched after the body was found at Mill Pond Park.
A homicide investigation implies that police believe a death occurred at the hands of another person.
Authorities received a 911 call just after 4 p.m., alerting them of the body, police told CBS 2.
The male victim was found slumped over a log, police said.
The body was found in a wooded area.
The victim was taken to the Nassau County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy.
