BABYLON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – A Long Island teenager has been arrested for allegedly robbing man who was walking home from a train station Wednesday night.

Laquan Brown, 16, will be arraigned on a second-degree robbery charge Thursday at First District Court in Central Islip.

Brown was on a bicycle and armed with a BB gun when he rode up to the man, who was walking from the Long Island Rail Road station in Babylon, and stole his wallet, police said.

The incident happened around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday on Mason Avenue.

A good Samaritan witnessed the robbery and confronted Brown who then took off on foot, police said.

The witness gave a description of the suspect to responding officers who later found Brown and placed him under arrest, police said.

The victim was not injured.
