Man Accused In Alleged Drunken Road Rage Crash On Long Island

HOLBROOK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A man was arrested early Sunday in a drunken road rage incident in which he allegedly slammed purposely into another vehicle on the Long Island Expressway.

Matthew Rall, 26, of Holbrook, stood charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated and reckless endangerment, Suffolk County police said.

Rall apparently got into a quarrel with someone at Irish Times Pub, at 975 Old Patchogue-Holbrook Rd. in Holbrook, before they both left the bar and Rall in his Toyota Tacoma, police told 1010 WINS.

Rall allegedly followed the other man, who was driving a Ford Ranger, eastbound on the expressway. He deliberately rammed into the Ranger repeatedly, police said.

Police pulled over Rall at Exit 63, after the other man called 911 at 2:35 a.m., police said.

Neither vehicle was severely damaged, and the other driver and his male passenger were not injured, police said.

Rall was to appear at Suffolk County First District Court for an arraignment Saturday, police said.
