Suspect Charged In Murder Of S.I. Woman Due In Court
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The suspect accused of killing a pregnant Staten Island woman is due in court on Monday.
Pedro Martin, 27, is charged with murder in the death of 20-year-old Megan Marotte, police said.
According to multiple reports, Marotte apparently agreed to have sex with Martin in exchange for money. But the two had an argument about how much she'd be paid, according to reports.
Marotte was last seen on Aug. 4. Her body was discovered by two women walking in Willowbrook Park near Victory Boulevard and Morani Street on Aug. 16, police said.

The women called 911 after they smelled a strong foul odor. It took investigators an hour to locate the remains in a wooded area.
Marotte, who was pregnant, lived about a half a mile away from the park where her body was discovered. According to police, there were no obvious signs of trauma on her body.
"Cutest little thing, and she never really grew that much. She was tiny. Nice child. I can always say very mannerly and I'm sorry she had to end this way," a neighbor told 1010 WINS' Steve Sandberg.
Marotte was reportedly struck and strangled, Sandberg reported.
The medical examiner's office is working to determine the cause of death.
