NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) — Three men were arrested in connection with a series of incidents that took place on Friday and Saturday, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

A 14-year-old boy was walking on Keegan Street near Dutch Broadway in Elmont on Friday when he was approached by Aaron Benton, 17,  and a group of unknown males, police said.

The group beat the victim, stole his cell phone, and fled the scene, according to authorities.

On Saturday Benton, Daniel Smith, 19, Eurvyn Joyce, 18, and an unknown Hispanic male were at a house party in Elmont when they approached a 17-year-old male victim and demanded his phone, police said. The victim refused and was struck repeatedly. The assailants took his phone and fled the scene, according to authorities.

The victim later confronted the men at Dutch Broadway in Elmont and Benton allegedly responded by brandishing a dagger. Authorities witnessed the altercation and the suspects fled the scene on foot.

Police eventually tracked down Benton, Smith, and Joyce on Dutch Broadway. Cops recovered the cell phones from both robberies and apprehended the suspects.

All of the defendants were charged with Second Degree Robbery. Benton was also charged with Second Degree Menacing.
