Congratulations To WFAN Fantasy Phenom Winner Demetri Adrahtas!
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Congratulations to Demetri Adrahtas from Long Beach, NY, this year's Fantasy Phenom winner!
Demetri will host his own weekly show on WFAN, starting in the fall.
Six talented hopefuls (four solos and a duo) had their chance on Friday to impress afternoon-drive host Mike Francesa, the live crowd at Bar A in Lake Como, N.J., and the voting public. Adrahtas, a special education teacher at Valley Stream South High School, was the listeners' choice with 39.91 percent of the vote.
"Congratulations to our Fantasy Phenom winner, Demetri Adrahtas," said Mark Chernoff, VP of Sports Programming for WFAN and CBS Radio. "We had five great finalists, and the way I look at it, Demetri finished first and everyone else tied for second."
"It's incredible, it really is," Adrahtas said while being interviewed by Joe and Evan on Monday.
WFAN would like to thank the many who participated in Fantasy Phenom 4. A lifelong Mets fan, Adrahtas has the distinction of joining past Fantasy Phenom winners Joe Giglio (2012), John Jastremski (2011) and Gregg Sussman (2010).
Matthew Shortis, John A. Schiavone II, Jonathan Lauder, Christian Heimall and Ralph Bednarczyk were also in the running for the grand prize.
