This Thursday edition of the Boomer & Carton Morning Extravaganza got off to a bit of a bumpy start, as Craig was dealing with the reality that someone helped themselves to a few bags of Combos from under his desk.
Being the professional that he is, Craig was able to set the Combos mystery aside (for now) and focus on the task at hand, which was getting this four-hour radio program underway by introducing his big blonde radio partner, known around these parts as simply Boomer.
Together, Boomer & Craig discussed the Yankees’ recent struggles after the Bombers lost to the Blue Jays in Toronto, falling 8.5 games behind Red Sox in the AL East and 5.5 games back in the AL Wild Card, agreeing the Yankee train is a little off track and running out of time to make it right.
From there it was on to the NFL, as both the Giants (at New England) and the Jets (vs. Eagles) will conclude the preseason portion of their schedules tonight. Word is Tom Coughlin is going to play his starters, including Eli manning, for the first 12-15 plays with the hopes of jump starting what has been a lethargic offensive unit thus far. As for the Jets, they will not be playing Mark Sanchez or Geno Smith tonight at MetLife.
Plenty to talk about and plenty of time to talk about it…
