NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – The NFL season is almost upon us, with the Giants and Jets playing their final preseason games on Thursday night.

And while the Giants have avoided controversy in the weeks leading up to the regular season, the Jets, again, have been in the middle of it.

Jason La Canfora, a writer for CBSSports.com, wrote a piece on Wednesday entitled “Media hornet’s nest only one of many problems for messed-up Jets.”

The story didn’t sit well with Bart Hubbuch, who writes for the New York Post.

The result? A Twitter war between the two scribes that got pretty ugly.
