Brothers Found Shot To Death In Newark After Birthday Outing
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that left two brothers dead and another person injured in Newark.
The shooting occurred on Vassar Avenue and Clinton Place just before 2 a.m. Friday.
Two men, identified by relatives as 25-year-old Fuquan Davis and his adopted brother 24-year-old Jalil Henry, were found dead inside a car in front of their uncle’s house, CBS 2’s Kathryn Brown reported.
They were gunned down in what appears to be an execution-style killing, 1010 WINS’ Steve Sandberg reported.
A third person, who has not yet been identified, was also shot and rushed to University Hospital in serious condition.
A fourth person who was in the car escaped unharmed, prosecutors said.
Relatives said the three went out Thursday night to celebrate Henry’s birthday.
Family members are desperate for answers.
“They just got shot in the car, that’s all I know,” the victims’ grandmother, Mardella Davis, said.
The victims’ mother said she can’t imagine who would want to hurt her sons.
No arrests have been made.
The investigation is ongoing.
