3 People Were Shot In One Incident In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Shootings left at least five people wounded across the city early Sunday, according to published reports.

One shooting in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn left three men injured and hospitalized. A neighbor told WCBS 880’s Monica Miller she he heard about five shots fired over loud music around 4:30 a.m. 1664 Albany Ave., and saw about a dozen people scattering upon looking out her window.

Police said two victims were taken to Brookdale University Medical Center in critical condition. The other victim was listed in serious condition at Kings County Hospital.

As 1010 WINS’ Glenn Schuck reported, five men were told to sit on the stoop of the multi-family home for questioning on Sunday morning.

It remained unclear if the shooter or shooters had been at the party earlier in the evening or just showed up with guns blazing, Schuck reported.

Earlier, a man was shot in the abdomen near West 143rd Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard in Harlem, according to a New York Daily News report. The victim of the shooting, which happened around 3:40 a.m., was taken to Harlem Hospital and was reported in stable condition, the newspaper reported.

In the earliest incident around 2:20 a.m., a man was shot in the torso near Tinton Avenue and East 166th Street in the Bronx, the newspaper reported. The man was taken to Lincoln Medical Center with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, as police were searched for three men in connection with the incident, the newspaper reported.
