Celebrities And Supermodels Flock To New York City For Fashion Week

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It's a big week for supermodels and anybody on the edge of fashion in the Big Apple.

Models invaded the city Friday night to strut their stuff, CBS 2's Jessica Schneider reported.

"I'm in Louis Vitton head to toe. But, they're also pajamas. If I get bored tonight I can just go straight to bed," Decades Fashion founder Cameron Silver said.

Celebrities like Alyssa Milano and Sports Illustrated supermodel Kate Upton will have the city buzzing for the next week.

"The creativity, it's so inspiring!" Milano said.

Fashion Week kicked off on Thursday and was moving into high gear with parties, red carpets, and curious onlookers.

"I love everything about New York fashion week. The parties, and the clothes, and the events. It's the moment. You have to live in it," Upton said.

New York is one of four major cities to host an official Fashion Week, along with London, Paris, and Milan. Fashionistas told CBS 2's Schneider that the Big Apple's is the most exciting.

"It almost depends upon Lincoln Center. I don't think people are fully aware of Fashion Week coming until it shows up! Last week there was the opera and now there's fashion week!" said Vanduncan Johnson-Phillips.

The week offers an inside look at the fashion that keeps New Yorkers on the cutting edge.
