EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- According to an ESPN report, New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez underwent an MRI that showed a partially-torn labrum.

Sanchez was injured during the Jets' preseason game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. He is inactive for Sunday's regular season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rookie Geno Smith will start at quarterback for Gang Green in Week 1.
