NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A man was hospitalized Monday following an early-morning shooting at a nightclub in Midtown.

The 26-year-old man was shot in the abdomen around 3:30 a.m. Monday at the Latin Quarter nightclub, at 511 Lexington Ave. near East 48th Street, according to published reports.

The victim was said to be in “stable” condition Monday at Bellevue Hospital.

Latin Quarter is the same nightclub where former New York Giants star Plaxico Burress accidentally shot himself in the thigh on Nov. 28, 2008, according to a New York Daily News report.

He ended up serving nearly two years in upstate New York on a gun charge after pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the incident.
