Search On For Suspect In Williamsburg Attempted Rape

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Tuesday were asking from help from the public in finding a suspect in an attempted rape in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Around 12:25 a.m. Sunday, the suspect entered the 21-year-old female victim's home in the area of Metropolitan Avenue when the victim was asleep, police said.

The suspect allegedly climbed on top of the woman, and tried to rape her, police said.

A struggle began, and the suspect fled through a window, police said.

Minor injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as a male Hispanic standing about 5 feet 4 to 5 feet 7 inches tall, wearing a white T-shirt with a "design" on the left shoulder.

Police have released surveillance video of a suspect.
