Prince Harry Spends Almost 24 Hours Inside Freezer To Prep For Upcoming Military Expedition

NEW YORK (WLNY) -- Prince Harry has a bit of a "party boy" reputation, but apparently, he can also keep things chill.

The 29-year-old member of the royal family spent nearly 24 hours in a giant freezer in preparation for an upcoming trip to the South Pole. The freezer was 31 degrees below zero, with wind speeds of 45 miles per hour.

The prince wanted to simulate the conditions he'll face on the 15 day, 200 mile expedition.

The royal son will join a group of injured British servicemen and women.

Last week, his brother, Prince William left his position in the military.

After serving in the Royal Air Force for seven-and-half years, Kensington Palace said William was hanging up his wings to focus on supporting "the work of The Queen and the Royal Family through a program of official engagements."
