Report: Dock Worker Sues After Being Fired For Urinating Outside On Job

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A dock worker in Brooklyn has filed a lawsuit, after he said he was fired for urinating outside on the job, according to a published report.

The unnamed man said he was hired last year as a timekeeper for Ceres Atlantic Terminals on Pier 12 in Red Hook, and had to be onsite some days when the office and its restrooms were closed, according to a New York Post report.

The man said he has diabetes and must urinate often and at a moment's notice, the newspaper reported. The lawsuit claimed the man sometimes had to urinate outside if the restrooms were closed or else he would have had an accident, the paper reported.

The man's attorney told the newspaper his client was ridiculed by his co-workers for his actions, the paper reported.

Afterward, he was fired upon admitting that he had urinated outside on the dock, the paper reported.

The lawsuit claimed the man was discriminated against based on a disability, the paper reported. Ceres Atlantic Terminals did not issue a comment to the paper.
