OKCupid Begins Allowing Paid Users To Be Picky About Body Types

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- People looking for love on OKCupid can now be picky about whether they prefer partners who would call themselves "average" or "full-figured;" "a little extra" or "jacked;" "athletic" or "used up."

As 1010 WINS' Holli Haerr reported Wednesday, like some pay dating websites already do, the free website now has a paid feature for that allows people to filter out their matches by body type.

OKCupid Begins Allowing Paid Users To Be Picky About Body Types

OKCupid will allow people to pay $4.95 to allow people to filter out would-be dates of a specific body type, according to published reports. "A-list" paid members, who pay between $4.95 and $9.95 a month for extra features, can also filter people by their "attractiveness" or body type.

Vera from Brooklyn said people should not limit their choices in such a fashion.

"You don't date a body, you date a person," she said.

But a man named Mike said the OKCupid feature could save people time. He was on the fence as to whether he approved of the feature.

"Morally, probably not," he said, "but practically, I think it makes sense."

Others said it is just like real life – if you meet somebody in a bar, you are likely to check out his or her body type.
