Search Continues For Missing Autistic Boy In Long Island City, Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The search continued Sunday for a 14-year-old autistic boy who has not been seen since he left his Long Island City, Queens school two days earlier.

Avonte Oquendo was last seen at 12:38 p.m. on Friday, leaving the Center Boulevard School on 51st Avenue in Long Island City, police said. He was caught on surveillance video running out of the building.

On Sunday, officers handed out missing person leaflets near the school.

Oquendo is African-American, stands 5 feet 3 inches tall, and weighs 120 pounds, police asid. He is not able to communicate verbally.

He was last seen wearing a gray striped shirt, black jeans, and black sneakers.

Police said Oquendo has no history of running away.
