Boomer & Carton: Jerry's Monday Morning Update

Jerry Recco wiped off his nose then began his first update of the morning with the latest surrounding the 0-5 New York Giants, after Eli Manning threw a few costly interceptions in the fourth quarter on Sunday.

Tom Coughlin believes his quarterback is simply trying too hard, hence all of the mistakes --  Eli was also penalized three times for intentional grounding.  As for Eli himself, the youngest Manning brother is aware that he can't keep turning the ball over at the rate he has thus far.

Plus, Eli's older brother Peyton wins a shootout with Tony Romo and the Cowboys, as the Broncos emerged with a 51-48 victory in a game for the ages. Jerry runs down the rest of the scoreboard for Week 5 of the NFL season, which will conclude tonight in Atlanta with the Jets and the Falcons battling it out. Also, Josh Freeman signs with the Vikings, Dodgers downed the Braves to go up 2-1, and the Pirates also take a 2-1 series lead over the Cardinals as some former Mets dominate the storylines.

Speaking of the Mets, Matt Harvey to undergo Tommy John surgery, and therefore will miss the entire 2014 season. And Jerry gives a brief NHL update to appease the Booms...
