NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Suffolk County police were investigating a crash that killed a 61-year-old driver on Mount Sinai early Sunday.
John Lamberta was driving a 2010 Hyundai south on North Ocean Avenue just after 7 a.m. Sunday when he went off the roadway into the woods just south of Canal Road, police said.
Lamberta, of Mount Sinai, was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle, police said.
Detectives have asked anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact the Sixth Squad at (631) 854-8652.
