Hakeem Nicks Unfazed By Trade Rumors: 'I'm A Giant'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The New York Giants are 0-6 and wide receiver Hakeem Nicks is due for a payday this offseason.

So should the Giants consider trading him before the Oct. 29 deadline?

Nicks has heard the rumors, but says he's happy to be on Big Blue.

"I'm a Giant, and that's the only thing I can focus on right now," Nicks said Monday. "I'm a Giant, and I love playing for the Giants. I'm a Giant right now, and I'm going to stand strong on that."

The 25-year-old has 46 receptions for 442 yards and no touchdowns on the season.

The Giants, who locked up receiver Victor Cruz to a big extension prior to the season, will have to decide whether the oft-injured Nicks is worth re-signing. If yes, at what cost? If no, perhaps shipping him to a playoff contender would be best for all involved.

"As of now, I'm a Giant," Nicks said. "At the end of the day, business is business. But I haven't been getting any whiff of anything like that. I'm a Giant right now, and I'm going to enjoy it, and we've got to start winning games."

The Giants haven't ruled out trading Nicks, according to Newsday. On the flip side, the team also hasn't ruled out bringing him back, ESPN reported.

"Why would we trade anyone?" safety Antrel Rolle said. "I think that's the least of our worries right now. I think we just need to focus on getting better as a football team. This season's not over yet."
