Authorities Investigate Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash In Suffolk County

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) — Detectives in Suffolk County were investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash in Farmingville on Saturday.

A 2013 Dodge Ram was being operated by Joseph Pedro, 16, on Horseblock Road when it was struck by a 1996 Toyota that was being driven northbound on Old Medford Ave by Franklyn Martinez, 23, according to authorities.

Pedro lost control of his vehicle and hit a 2002 Chevy that was being driven by Jennifer Colon, 40, of Medford. Colon was pronounced dead at the scene. Pedro and Martinez were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

All three vehicles were impounded for safety checks, the investigation is continuing.
