NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a woman whose body was found along Gravesend Bay more than two years ago.

On July 17, 2011, the woman's remains were discovered inside a laundry-type cart in the rocks along the shore near Bay 20 Street and Shore Parkway in the Bath Beach section of Brooklyn, said police, who ruled the death a homicide.

Authorities have not been able to identify the victim. They say she was Hispanic; had brown eyes and dark, curly hair; was 18 to 25 years old; was about 5 feet, 7 inches tall; and weighed approximately 150 pounds. She was found wearing blue jeans that read "ONLY YOU" and a black sleeveless summer blouse and a black belt with a silver oval buckle.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or to submit a tip online at NYPDCrimeStoppers.com.
