2 Found Stabbed To Death In Newark Home

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Newark were investigating after two people were found stabbed to death in a home Tuesday afternoon.

As CBS 2's Joe Biermann reported, around 3:30 p.m., police responded to a home in the 400 block of South 11th Street, where they found two middle-aged victims – one a man, the other a woman. The man was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:39 p.m., while the woman was pronounced dead at University Hospital at 3:54 p.m.

Their names were not being released early Tuesday evening.

The cause of death was pending autopsy Tuesday evening. Earlier, police said the incident was being classified as a double homicide.
