Police Release New Video Of Suspect Wanted In 2011 Beating Death Of Greenwich Village Man

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have released new surveillance video in hopes of finding the man responsible for assaulting and robbing an 83-year-old man, who died as a result of his injuries, more than two years ago.

Joseph Sibilla had his wallet stolen after being brutally beaten inside his West 12th Street apartment in Greenwich Village April 29, 2011, police said.

Sibilla was taken to Beth Israel Hospital in serious condition, but died from his injuries 11 days after the attack.

Police are looking for a suspect who is described as a black male, between 35 and 40 years old, about 5-feet-7-inches tall with a thin build.

He was last seen carrying a newspaper and wearing a dark colored coat, blue jeans and a blue/green baseball hat.

Surveillance video released Tuesday shows the suspect walking in the area prior to the incident.
