Woman, 2 Boys Hurt In Long Island Crash
HICKSVILLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A woman and two children – the youngest just 3 years old – were injured Sunday in a crash in Nassau County.
The crash happened around 12:45 p.m. on Old Country Road at Broadway in Hicksville, Nassau County police said. A 47-year-old man was headed west on Old Country Road in a 1999 GM pickup truck, when he slammed into a 2007 Nissan driven by the 42-year-old woman, police said.
The Nissan was headed east on Old Country Road turning left onto Broadway.
A 3-year-old boy was ejected from the Nissan and suffered head trauma, police said. A 12-year-old boy was in the back seat of the Nissan and suffered lacerations to his head and face, police said.
The woman driving the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
All three were taken to an area hospital in unspecified conditions, police said. Police did not indicate the relationship between the woman and the boys.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Police said there appeared to be no criminality involved.
