L.I. Woman Claims Restaurant Delivered Bias Note Along With Lunch Order
OLD BETHPAGE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A Long Island woman is accusing a restaurant of dishing out a bias note along with her meal.
Ana Sol Bautista, of Hempstead, claims her chicken sandwich was delivered to her along with a nasty note from the Villa Monte restaurant in Old Bethpage on Thursday afternoon.
Bautista said the note read, “This is America, speak englese idiota.”
The note came after Bautista complained to the restaurant that they got her first lunch order wrong, Xirinachs reported.
Customers are stunned by the allegation.
“That’s crazy, that’s ridiculous,” one man said.
“You’re a customer service industry, you need to respect all your clients and treat everyone equally,” another man said.
Police are investigating the incident as a possible bias crime.
WCBS 880 has reached out for comment from the restaurant.
