NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut’s health insurance marketplace is officially opening its first storefront where consumers can sign up for coverage.
Access Health CT plans a grand opening of the New Britain site Nov. 7 at 11:30 a.m. The store, at 200 Main St., already has been open for about a week.
A second store is expected to open later this month at 55 Church St. in New Haven.
Access Health CT says Connecticut is the only state to open storefronts. They’ll be manned with outreach workers, assisters and insurance brokers to help people review coverage options, determine eligibility for Medicaid or insurance subsidies and register for coverage.
The New Britain store will be open noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.
