Westchester Teen Accused Of Secretly Videotaping People At Gym Locker Room

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Westchester County teen is accused of secretly videotaping people inside a health club locker room.

Daniel "Max" Winsten, 19, of Croton-on-Hudson, was arrested on Nov. 8 following a four-month investigation into allegations he secretly filmed of people in various states of undress in the locker room and shower area of a local health club.

Police searched Winsten's home and seized several computer items, officials said.

After analyzing the seized material, Winsten was charged with unlawful surveillance in the second degree and possessing an obscene performance by a child, police said.

If convicted, Winsten faces up to four years in state prison.

Winsten was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Court and released on his own recognizance with certain conditions imposed by the court.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible.

The health club involved has cooperated fully in the investigation.
