Brooklyn Woman Fights To Keep Fort Greene Brownstone

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Brooklyn homeowner who fought cancer is now fighting to keep her home.

Judith O'Csay said she bought her Fort Greene brownstone on Elliot Place in 1994.

After the home was classified historic, O'Csay donated the home's exterior to a non-profit in return for a tax deduction, CBS 2 reported.

But now the Internal Revenue Service is threatening to take her home, claiming O'Csay owes $250,000 in back taxes.

It's been a seven year battle and O'Csay said she's concerned about her two children.

"I have to support them. I have to send them to college," O'Csay said, " I quit my job when I had my kids because I wanted to raise them in my home and now they're trying to take all of that away."

The IRS said it cannot comment on the case because of privacy laws.
