Investigators Seize More Than 2,300 Potentially Dangerous Toys At Port Of NY/NJ

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Federal agents seized thousands of dollars worth of toys that may pose a safety threat to children.

Customs officers at the Port of New York/New Jersey seized two shipments from China containing toy dolls, cosmetic sets, fire trucks and tractors late last month, officials announced Wednesday.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission determined some of the items contained excessive amounts of lead and others were potential choking hazards.

More than 2,300 toys with an estimated value of more than $11,000 were seized.
