Lady Gaga Fans Wait Out In Cold For Chance To Meet Pop Star

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Hundreds of Lady Gaga fans stood on line for hours in the cold for a chance to meet the "Fame Monster" herself.

As CBS 2's Hazel Sanchez reported, the eccentric pop star appeared at the grand opening of the H&M store in Times Square at midnight Thursday.

Lena Lany was first in line. She arrived around 8 p.m. Tuesday for the chance to win one of 20 golden tickets to meet the "Applause" singer and to thank her for being an inspiration for her individuality.

"I can relate to her," Lany said. "She's so strong and vibrant. I love it, and she's fearless. She can wear anything and make it work."

"Her makeup is cool, and her outfits are cool, and her hats are cool," added fan Samantha Daska.

Although the temperatures dipped into the 30s, Gaga's fans were numb to the elements.

"It's gonna be worth it," said fan Jordan Jones. "We're going to see our star, our idol. And we're also going to go shopping in our favorite store."
