Woman Questioned, Not Charged In Connection With Yonkers Shooting

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- New information has been revealed in a shooting that left a couple hurt inside of their Yonkers mansion.

Real estate developer Ken Dearden was alert and talking when paramedics arrived at his family's home on Thursday night. Dearden was shot in the neck with a 22-caliber weapon, police said. Detectives do not believe that his injury was self-inflicted.

Dearden's wife, Emily, an NYPD psychologist was treated for a minor head wound.

Police would not say who fired the weapon or if it was an accident or a crime.

"We did have an incident at that location and I can't give you any more details at this point in time," Yonkers Police Commissioner Charles Gardner said.

Emily Dearden was questioned about the shooting, but was not charged.
